Dynasty Warriors 5 (真・三國無双4, Shin Sangokumusō 4, Shin Sangokumusou 4 in Japan) is a hack and slash video game set in China and the fifth installment in the Dynasty Warriors series, developed by Omega Force and published by Koei. If you can't decide what Warrior's game to start with, pick this one. It's the best Three Kingdoms Musou game. The English voice acting here is the best you'll find in a warriors game, and the music is only second to Dynasty Warriors 4. The game play is perfected in this series.

Loosely based on the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms which is loosely based on the actual Three Kingdoms period in history. In the 2nd Century, the Han Dynasty is in decline and a group of rebels named the Yellow Turbans has took the country by storm. During this time many warlords rise up to the imperial call to subdue the rebellion, but due to the countries waning influence the various warlords set their sights for conquest.

About the game: Pick one of fifty characters and live out their life during the turmoil of the three kingdoms period, where you will hack away numerous nameless Chinese soldiers, and have duels with other generals. This includes a weapon upgrade system, with each character having their own ultimate weapon that can be unlocked under special conditions. This is also the last game which includes a bodyguard system, where you can take and have a helpful tag along that will fight for you, whom you can give orders (attack, defend/block, hold position).
