Games For Kids Halloween Party

Halloween games of disguise survive in many old sources, and they don't necessarily involve elaborate costumes. In 'Nosey,' the party guests are divided into two groups and sent into adjoining rooms. A curtain or heavy sheet with a small slit in it is hung in the doorway. Find and save ideas about Halloween party games on Pinterest.

Feel Box

Monster Games For Kids Halloween Party

Create a spooky Halloween feel box using foods like cold spaghetti ('worms') or peeled grapes ('eyeballs'). Kids will have a blast feeling inside each box for the creepy, 'gross' items and trying to guess what they are. Check out full instructions for the game as well as other tips and tricks.

Halloween Word Scramble

This game has a lot in common with the classic word-creation game Boggle! Write the word Frankenstein on a large sheet of paper. Break your group into pairs, and give each pair their own paper and pencils. Set a timer for three minutes, and challenge the pairs to create as many words of three letters or more as they possibly can from the letters in the word Frankenstein. When the timer goes off, have each group read out their words. Whoever created the most words wins! If the game is a hit, try it again with the word Halloween.

Eyeball Hunt

Cook a large box of spaghetti, and allow the spaghetti to cool. Put the spaghetti back into the pot, and add a generous number of marbles to the pot. Stir thoroughly so that the balls or marbles are buried. Invite each guest to dig into the pot and collect as many balls as possible in a set amount of time. For older players, Fill a large pot with cooked spaghetti noodles, and then bury ping pong balls in the noodles. See who can find the most balls in a set amount of time. For an added twist you can assign points to each color of marble. Instead of counting the number of marbles collected, count up the points earned by each player.

How Many Halloween Candies Game

Fill a large glass jar with candy corn. As guests arrive, invite them to guess the number of candies in the jar, and write down each guess. As the evening winds to a close, have the children help to count out the number of candies in the jar. Whoever guessed the number correctly (or came the closest) wins the jar!

Zombie Game

This game is great fun for the right group of kids. One child is chosen as 'it,' while the others must remain as expressionless as zombies. 'It' must get at least one of the 'zombies' to smile, giggle, or laugh without touching that person. Silly faces, pratfalls, and jokes are all fair game -- though tickling is not. Once a zombie laughs, that person becomes 'it!'

Candy Corn Relay Race

Games For Kids Halloween Party

This twist on the egg-on-a-spoon relay that's so popular at field days involves Halloween candy instead of an egg. Like a field day games, it requires quite a bit of space to play -- a backyard or driveway or, if it's cold, a really large playroom or living space. Start by creating a relay course with a starting line and finish line. Divide the group into teams. Then set out a bowl full of candy corn for each team at the starting line and an empty bowl at the finish line. The players must use a large spoon to scoop candy corn out of the full bowl and then carry it to the empty bowl and fill it. They cannot spill any candy corn or use their hands! If any candy corn falls off the spoon, they must immediately pick it up and bring it back to the starting line bowl and start over with that scoopful. Once a player makes a round trip, they tag the next player until each member of both teams has run the race.

Costume Relay Race

Split your group into two teams, and give each a suitcase or box. Inside is a costume with shirt, pants, wig, mask, and any other easy-to-wear item. Players must grab the box, put on the costume, run to the end of the course, change out of the costume, and run back to the starting place. The next player does the same, and then the next. The game continues until all players have had a chance to run the race. The team that finishes first wins.
